알론조는 마약과 폭력으로 얼룩진 LA에서 생존법을 터득한 마약단속반 고참이다. 그는 신참 제이크를 부하로 만들기 위해 무자비한 통과의례에 들어간다. 바른 생활 사나이인 제이크가 품고 있었던 고참에 대한 경외심은 잔인한 사건을 겪으면서 점차 환멸로 변해간다.
